03/2011 to 09/2012
Lead Schedule Integrator
Quanta Power Generation
5445 DTC Parkway Suite 1200 Greenwood
Village, CO 80111
I was tasked with creating a scheduling department program
within the Project Controls group of Quanta Power Generation. The purpose was
to develop engineering and construction schedules for renewable electrical
power generation dealing with photovoltaic solar, combined cycle gas
generation, bio waste and geo thermal projects. Projects range in size from
2.5 mw to 200 mw utilizing various technologies and equipment arrangements.
Schedules were developed
encompassing engineering, procurement and construction disciplines. I developed
multiple schedules at the same time for proposals and ongoing projects and
then worked them concurrently. Schedules were resource loaded, logic driven
and earned value measurement (EVM) based. Software used for scheduling
included Primavera P6, 7 & 8, and Microsoft Project 2010. Schedule
narratives and documentation were provided for proposal schedules and monthly
reporting for both internal reports and external client monthly reports.
Interfacing with all internal disciplines I provided an accurate representation
of each disciplines workflow and status for their portion of the schedule.
02/2006 to 03/2011
Scheduler 5
Shaw Group
9201 Dry Creek Rd. Centennial, CO 80112
Scheduling
on multiple projects, which included coal fired, combined cycle natural gas,
geo thermal and nuclear projects.
The dollar cost of projects ranged from
seven hundred million dollars to over a billion dollars,
I was lead site scheduler on the Comanche Unit 3
project from 02/2006 to 03/2009 located in Pueblo Colorado where I developed,
tracked and had overall responsibility for the balance of plant schedule,
which included assembly of the steam turbine and generator, all mechanical
equipment and systems outside of the boiler and air quality control
structures, all site civil work, all site electrical and distributed control
systems work and piping systems either in their entirety or to termination
point provided by other site contractors. This was a fully resource loaded
schedule based on earned value method development in Primavera software,
starting in version 3.1 and then migrating to Primavera version 5, 6 and 7.
The scheduling effort encompassed multiple groups including engineering,
procurement, contracting, construction and startup / commissioning and
included other contractors and the client with schedules being developed,
integrated and tracked in a master schedule
All
schedules were created in Primavera software utilizing earned value methods
and performance analysis. I contributed to the generation of monthly
reporting documentation by providing schedules, schedule analysis and
validation for both internal Shaw reports and external client reports.
I developed proposal schedules for future work for both domestic and international
clients. I developed and provided detailed steam turbine, generator
construction schedules that were incorporated and utilized worldwide by Shaw.
The full proposal and construction
schedules were logic driven, EVM based, resource loaded based off of an
estimate provided from Timberline estimating software.
I provided support
and plan leadership including analytical oversight to other projects at Shaw
as required. I participated in mediation and litigation efforts for the
company on various projects providing forensic schedule analysis and detailed
schedule reviews.

activities related to operations and maintenance scheduling in a municipal
electric generating utility. Work was focused on building maintenance,
equipment inspection and repair. Duties included providing technical
direction to various groups of professionals, support personnel, contractors,
subcontractors and plant maintenance work groups. Developed detailed project
planning, monitored execution and performance on short and long term projects
at multiple work sites. Working with contract specialists I developed work
scopes for Request for Purchase (RFP) as well as review of the returned
RFP’s, participated in contractor / subcontractor selection and execution of
contacts. I conducted contractor performance reviews and project status
updates for in progress projects and communicated with contractor’s the
project status and schedule performance. I performed logistical planning for
layout of projects, equipment and facilities; research, identify, locate and
procurement of necessary equipment and parts. I was provided a broad sense of
scope and objectives but I was accountable for development and execution of
overall tactical plans to achieve objectives. Daily work planning and
preventative work requests utilized the Maximo work management software. The
major equipment overhaul and project planning utilized PSDI Maximo work
management system (WMS) and Primavera P3, 5, and Microsoft Project software
for project scheduling. The major outage planning involved defining the
overall scope of a project, scheduling contractor accomplished work in the
master schedule, detailing the individual disassembly, inspection, repair and
reassembly of equipment and component parts. Work encompassed assemblies such
as turbines (steam driven and hydro powered) steam generating boilers and all
peripheral plant support equipment. Each project schedule activity was
assigned a corresponding work order in the Maximo work management system with
productivity being measured in the Maximo system. I was assigned five
sites to manage with a combined total of eleven separate generating units
including coal fired, natural gas fired and hydro powered units.

Member of the team
tasked with creation of a planning and analysis group within the electric
generation department of Colorado Springs Utilities. I worked on the
development and deployment of a work management system (WMS) Maximo for the
entire utility department. This also included creation of a preventive
maintenance program that included vibration monitoring, thermograph and oil
sampling followed by analysis of data and creation of any needed equipment
repair work requests generated in the Maximo work management system.
On a daily basis I was tasked with planning
of construction projects and daily maintenance planning related to operations
and maintenance in a municipal electric generating utility. Duties included
estimating labor and equipment costs; defining, locating and procurement of
equipment, parts and services; physical inspections of systems and equipment
and the scheduling coordination of different crafts. The primary work groups
I was assigned were electrical and instrumentation & control, with
assistance given to the mechanical group as required. I developed scope
of work for contacts for services; initial reviewing of RFP’s for service and
material bids; review and monitor contractor performance; preparing outage
reports; and maintaining and updating records in work management system (PSDI
Maximo). The major outage planning involved defining the scope for the
complete overhaul and reassembly of turbines (steam driven and hydro powered)
steam generating boilers and all peripheral support equipment. I was assigned
five sites to manage with a combined total of eleven separate generating
units, which included coal fired, gas fired and hydro powered units. Major
unit overhaul planning utilized Microsoft Project software.
